new plans (post-PoC and/or mid July)

you know what? new plans. two things:

(amplify, and the general get money pathways) -- bet on two things: iterative improvement in ways to talk to people (social improvement) and have the right materials to present competency, this will drastically improve my experience in cold speaking to people. that goes for z, potentially 1517, and a bunch more accessible and inaccessible fundraising opportunities. however, how do we even speak to inaccessible fundraising opportunities? this is a particular challenge because amplify bio is inaccessible as of now. we can take a bet. lada nuzhna. both are ran in parallel, cold that i can reach, and bet on warm. lada nuzhna's profile is that she envys the speed and efficiency of production systems in china. my dad has connections in china for myself, and therefore can help her. i can offer that help, no matter if she really needs my help or not. secondly, i should meet her in person, and there are two things i need to do to psychologically make people feel more willing to help me: attire and gifting. confidence and ball knowledge is simply and they are bread and butter, but i can imagine lada doesn't have many people to really talk to in her age group, since she is roughly the same age as people like beatriz but not in academia lane. in other words she is a lone wolf. the people she talks to and are in her leagues are prob people way older, or a very few people who are same age or younger with the same amount of ambition. and within those, how many people can make the effort to give them "expensive" gifts? gifts that have recognizable prestige but straight out of a poor-consumer base and therefore cheap sale price tag country like china. anything can do. and that goes the same with prof. sun, and anyone i get in touch with. if she is in china, or in sf, i shall msg her in advance to see if i can meet her in person. in person is always better.

second plan, in regards to recruit: one thing i noticed from cluely, eddy's (yea but i should learn from anyone) startup, dan (in his own words about working with asians vs. any other race, and his monic startup's team structure), and even maxx (ik about richard zhuang from gns) is that they all hire chinese people. but most ppl in america, or chinese americans, are not really chinese. we abandon moral frameworks in ethnic evaluations or profiling but we do see a pattern, not just here but in the broader SF culture. who are building many things right now that are not the tippy top of a corporation/startup? asians. we can source many people from japan and china but ppl in china have more will in comparison to japanese ppl because chinese people simply live in a worse standard and have more drive. you rarely see any well known black, caucasian, or middle eastern hardworking postdocs and whatever that will be so devoted that they work overnight, or not work too much but solves everything and will do everything for you. you need to make them decide to work in a better situation, and america is already the best, and that itself justifies so much why sourcing people within the us is so hard, and since im from amherst (a chosen envrionemnt to kickstart the entire project for the love of the microfluidic device), this tradeoff is acceptable (they literally don't have a grad school), that i will find the people in china and bring them here, not work fully in china. everything is fluid. there are plenty of postdocs with suzanne-type profile from china i can try to get through my dad's connection in qing hua. and the gift, attire, confidence, ball knowledge aka rigor still apply.

correction on lada: if there are no natural reasons to go in the first place to whereever she is (sf or shanghai or sz, etc), don't go. the gifts have to be natural or it could backfire. consider how to deliver the gifts and possibly no gifts at all even if in person.
